Modded OEM exhaust

Read a few threads about this and wanted to try it out. There's a few ways people have modded these. Some just pulled out the stuffing in the middle can and wrapped the perforated pipes. Others welded in pipes in place of the perforated ones. We went with another method. Pictures below.

This is what the left and right cans look like inside if you've never seen them. They criss-cross thru the center of the muffler.

We cut out the pipes and re-directed the Y-pipe straight thru bypassing the center of the can.

Last step is to weld on the titanium tips and throw it on the car..

Painted it black..

Interesting. How were you guys able to weld the entire diameter of the pipes? It doesn't appear from your pics that you opened the top and bottom of the muffler.

I can tell you first hand this exhaust sounds great inside and out. I rode the ILB M3 seen in video and it has ZERO drone. It's great for someone who might want an exotic sound, but can modulate/keep the M sound tamer in normal driving conditions. It's a no brainer alternative to a $3k++ M perf. exhaust. ACM will even option it out with carbon black or burnt tips (adjustable to any config.). They also have the option of sending you a full modded one (so you keep your original exhaust).

Awesome job by ACM.

Bart, please PM a price of one ready to mount or if I mod my current exhaust. I'm in Philly and have no problem driving to North Jersey.
Thanks
