Hi guys,

Just got my E92 M3 in Sparkling Graphite so I wanted to briefly introduce myself. I live in Houston so looking forward to come across other M3 owner during track days and other events.
I've had an E46 M3 before and then was sucked into the dark side of the force (Audi S4). Now I am back in the the M-Power clan and gaawwwddd it feels good!

New Texas owner M3 here

Too bad I'm waiting for my car to be redelivered from ED. I've got family in Kingwood as well as Austin, so I plan on showing the M3 the entire great state of Texas ASAP.

What's goin' on guys (and gals?) Looks like the thread's regained some life. I've got an E90 on the way, should hit Charleston at the end of the month for PDC delivery a couple weeks later.

Wanted to ask, especially those in north Texas, what do y'all do for winter tires? (brand, staggered vs. square, etc.) After delivery in SC, I'm gonna be driving the M3 to DC to spend the holidays with family, then taking the long way back to TX through IN to visit more family, so there's a possibility of running into real winter weather, but only for those couple weeks. I'll be running OEM 18's until spring, and yes, I've read ben@tirerack's whole thread.

Realistically, you won't need winter tires in Texas. Most of the time they shut everything down here anyway, and by the next day or two the streets are clear. Except for dc I don't think you will get much snow from carolinas back to Texas. Save the money.

All I know, you don't need them here. Even in the crap we had two years ago, there was an e90 335 next to me in my truck in a lot of snow and ice, and he was keeping up just fine coming back from wichita falls.
