Cold starting problems

As simple as that really.

Car can take 2-3 seconds (3 might be a bit of an exageration) when starting from cold. It's ok once warm after a run, just that initial start up sequence in the morning. Our Tdi Golf starts quicker after 130,000 miles.

I've been informed it could be the fuel pump, I've read maybe the fuel filter. Car is 2009 and on 32k miles.

Car has warranty but if it's the Fuel filter, I could change it myself, fuel pump however, it'd be going to the dealers.

Small vacuum leak can cause more difficult start as well. Probably would be with each start though not just cold.

Could be a fuel pump issue. Not holding/keeping enough psi in the rail to allow quick starts. Something to look at is the fuel pressure switch. Did you read the codes?

Had the codes read very recently and none recorded whatsoever.only the one to do with the FRM, regarding my bulb failure, the whole reason I was getting the codes read. Could just be the early signs of pump failure I suppose.

Will live with it for now, but might change the filter anyway if anyone thinks it might have any benefit.
