Urgent question -- stuck on side of road

After picking up my new 2013 E92, I'm now on the side of the road with a flat tire. Does anyone know if the Michelins this car came with (competition package) are run-flats? It's dark and very hard to read the sidewall. If fear they are not run flats, there is no spare, and the tow truck is still over an hour away. If someone can confirm they are run flats I will be cruising home instead of waiting all night for a tow.

Not run-flats. There's a kit with "goo" and a pump in the trunk, though. Sorry for the bad luck; hope you get home okay.

The kit in the back didn't work. I could hear the air gushing out even after following the procedure exactly by the book.

I know it sucks. But don't get too pissed off. Just get it fixed and enjoy driving it. Congrats btw.

Sorry to hear this and hope you get home safe. If the goo is not working then you must have a big gash on your tires.

Thanks everyone...appreciate it. Tow truck is allegedly close (same state?) so will continue fighting the urge to just drive home on the wrecked tire. The gash is a good half inch long -- I saw the goo oozing out of it but unfortunately not enough to keep the pressure.

To the OP, that good sucks. I tried to get home on it once and had the same experience. I guess it has it's place, but generally it doesn't work all that well. And I'm sure you are home now, but driving on the bad tire would be a bad idea; you could destroy your wheel.

lol

run flats, M3, and Michelins in the same sentence.

-------

On a related note, when I got a flat tire from a nail puncture, I called BMW Assist. The operator tried to convince me that the M5 had run flats and to drive on it. Needless to say I corrected her, but more shocking was how a likely BMW employee didn't even know their own product.

Same experience in my Z4M. Drove over a razor blade or something in the road and got a huge cut in the tire. Called Assist.
"Go ahead and keep driving you have runflats"
"No I dont its an M"
"Oh okay, go ahead and put your spare on"
"I dont have a spare, its an M!"
"Okay ill send out a tow truck"

That was a fun conversation.

The goo probably only works if you have nail in your tire and the air is leaking slowly

You can try the "mobility kit" in the trunk. Essentially a bottle of "tire goo" and a pump. You should be able to go 50 miles or so on it.

That or call BMW assist for a tow.
