With the Evolve ECU remap, one will generally see anything upto 425-430bhp once an adaptation time period has elapsed. Through careful remapping of the factory BMW DME tables, various elements such as ignition timing, fuel delivery, vanos position and part throttles are reworked to create performance gains. The result is an M3 which feels far sharper and pulls harder through the rev band, especially over 4500rpm. Evolve's engine tuning philosophy is to improve driveability and enjoyment. They do this by giving an increase in power and torque throughout the entire rev range, and not just a 'glory' BHP figure found at high rpm where you don't spend the majority of your time. Evolve-R - Installation Overview
1. Install the supplied software on your laptop (Windows XP/Vista/7 ) 2. Connect the cable to your OBD-II port and read your ECU into a file. 3. Email Evolve the file 4. Evolve tunes the file, emails it back and you use the evolve-R to flash the tuned file into your ECU. You can replace your original/tune file at will, and of course if you add any additional modifications in the future, you use the same process to load up the new file Evolve would send you. Important Note for 2011+ E9X M3 Owners
Due to BMW's anti-tuning algorithms, those with the latest BMW ECU software will require a basic (10AMP/20AMP) trickle battery charger that is capable of maintaining a minimum of 12.5V battery voltage. This is due to the fact that the read / write times are extended in order to bypass these "locked" ECUs. |
