M3 Oil Sensor
I just took my 2011 M3 in for the 1200 mile service and when I picked it up the oil gauge read > MAX. I freaked out, called the dealer and brought the car back the next day. When I picked it up they said the amount of oil was fine but the oil leveling sensor was broken/malfunctioning. Now the oil level in near the minimum like but reading fine. Has anyone else had that problem? Its a brand new car .... sheesh ....

Brought mine in for the 15000 mile oil change 2 weeks ago and tried to run diagnostics the other day which gave back an error message "The oil level measurement is inactiv due to sensor error. Please observe service interval for engine oil and have the system checked during the next oil change"
Stopped by a dealership to ask them about it and they couldn't figure it out on the spot. Will have to schedule a time to drop it off so they can fully diagnose. Annoying but just got the oil changed so not too worried about oil levels right now. |
