Wheel for GT5
I was looking around... and the Logitech G25/G27 are not only hard to find... but also pretty expensive.
An easy $300 or more But I came across this: http://www.fanatec.de/webshop/new_us...6d5082ca77992b http://www.fanatec.de/html/index.php?id=280&lang= Does anyone have any personal experience with this? It's not only cheaper...but much much sexier i read online that the shifter is resistant making it more realistic than the 'flimsy' Logitech one i played with the logitech on at Fry's and it wasn't realistic feeling, but it wasn't bad either.

People who don't use wheels are getting nothing out of the game other than entertainment. Am looking for a wheel as well, might go with the G27... We'll see.

G27 > That. Clutch + 6 speed shifter can't be beat.
edit: Oops, didn't realize the Fanatec also has clutch. Interesting. I like that the G27 wheel can be swapped for a "real" full size steering wheel though.

2 months ago the G27 was on Amazon for $220. From a 3rd party retail.
I suggest just waiting til they are back in stock. You got hit by the GT5 wheel rush, unfortunately.

If you're gonna be using the clutch and pedals get a G27 but if you're gonna go with just paddles I say get a driving force GT. Theyre like 100 brand new and its the official wheel of GT5

This is why, you answered it yourself:

Guess you pay for the alcantara versus the shifter set lol I was thinking of maybe just doing something like this if I get a nicer wheel: Since the whole seat thing is way too much $$ that's like half drive off on an e93 M3 lol Quote:
I have the wheel from when GT4 came out, works similar. Only reason I'd dish out m ore $ is for a clutch +shifter I miss having a manual in real life.. so might as well make up for it like this haha

I want the regular 911 wheel with the pedals and shifter and then get the stand that they have, might be a bit of a bitch to not have a stand but who knows.
I don't even have the game and now I am not buying it until I have this wheel and pedal set b/c it seems like it won't be any fun unless you do.

I don't exactly like my old wheel as it's not as precise as the new one (I played with the G27 at Fry's) But just having pedals is more than enough You can't really throttle control with the controller but it's still fun nonetheless
