On the Polaris Leader
My car is on the Polaris Leader. It's just come through the English Channel today.
I'm supposed to pick up the car in Port Hueneme, but I don't know when. Does anyone know how I can find the expected dates. I'm sure I can contact the dealer, but that's too easy! D |

My car is on that ship too! I did ED and left mine on August 26th. Are you doing a normal delivery or ED?
Also, why are you going to pick up your car from the port? Isn't it normal for it to be shipped to the dealer? |

Hey smmmurf!
I dropped mine off on August 23 in Munich...after one week. We drove to Prague and Salzburg. Had a blast! Now I'm totally impatient! |

This link put in the Vin # in the CARGO ID, once it is loaded to the vessels it will show up in the system.
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/customer...LaunchPage.htm This link to track the ship. www.marinetraffic.com to track the ship..

Thanks, I put in the VIN and got "no records found". Are you sure this is for shipping to the west coast?
Also the link to marinetraffic.com appears not to work. I've been using: http://aprs.fi/?call=563710000 with the call sign of the ship. It brings up a google map of the location of the ship. Last edited by DemoDave; 09-07-2009 at 12:15 PM.. Reason: adding stuff |

...hmmm...I wonder what the salvage value is on slightly wet and salty M3s and a few VWs?
...do you think the water is deep...I hope not, otherwise, that will significantly increase the expense to salvage the car! |

Mine is still in the production phase, but how do you find the ship that it is on?

Somali pirates!
Inconceivable. That's a long way to go around the horn of Africa or through the Suez... I'm thinking Newfoundland fisherman or more likely Pirates from the Caribbean. OK, here's the latest. I exchanged emails with BLG Logistics and they indicate the ship is due in Port Hueneme on Sept 27 In the meantime, we have to figure out how to track those guys...perhaps they're using some cloaking device or perhaps its a stealth ship once it gets into the Atlantic. |

OK, so how do I find the "polaris leader" in the middle of the Atlantic?
I've tried marine traffic, I've tried APRS, I've tried digital seas...no luck I do know that it arrives Port Hueneme on Sept 27 or 28...but nothing else. So, who's up for the challenge? |

You could try contacting the Coast Guard in that area and ask if the ship is in their logbook of sea traffic. Just a try.
