New Jersey dealers question
Does anyone here know which NJ dealer is the best one to deal with as far as purchasing a new car and service? I'm in a market to get into a '09 M3 later this month or early May and I just want to know if anyone here have good experience with any of them.
thanks in advance. newbieguy |

Get it from the closest dealer. If you start the negotiations correctly, you should be able to get a great deal from the get go. At the moment, $500-800 oer invoice is a great deal if you get it from the closest one. This pays off at service time. You may be able to save a few hunded max by being cutthroat, but that is hardly worth it in the long run.
Where in NJ are you? |

Drive a little and save a lot in PA. I'm a big fan of Daniel's BMW in Allentown. They're on BMWNA's list of best dealerships. I've had excellent service and should have bought my M3 there.
Look here for BMWNA's list.

It really depends on where in NJ you are. If you are in Union County I would go with JMK. Full disclosure, I'm biased towards them seeing as how my family has purchased over 20 BMWs from them over the past 25 years. I've always directed my friends towards them, and my friends have had nothing but positive things to say.
Morristown BMW is also very good. My father just took delivery of his X5d from JMK. The price from Morristown BMW was $300 cheaper (invoice, vs. invoice +$300 at JMK), but not worth the hassle of going there and damaging the relationship with JMK. The guys at Morristown were great to deal with though in our limited interactions. Straight to the point, no BS with them. I haven't had any dealings w/ Open Road BMW on Rt1, but I do see a fair number of cars w/ Open Road (I HATE when dealers use vehicles as billboards) stickers on them, so I am assuming that they are OK to deal with. Talk to them all, and go with the ones that you feel most comfortable with. Hope this helps.

Also, even if you purchase the vehicle in PA, you are still going to have to pay NJ sales tax on it. No way to save that $$.

JMKs good, Freehold BMW is where I bought the E90 from. Avoid Open Road if you can, I've had two pretty bad experiences from them, especially when buying the E92.
It was the closest to me, but I learned my lesson and went a little further to Freehold for a much better buying experience. FWIW I was considering the M3, I called up Open Road for a test drive and they said BMW NA has issued a nationwide notice saying no M3s are allowed to be test driven at all. I called up Freehold and was on the road testing an M3 in 5 minutes.

If the OP can order a vehicle for $500 over invoice locally, why should he get it from Allentown (which is a hike!). I would bet Daniel's doesn't do much better (on an 09 order). Saving a couple hundred bucks and buying from a dealer 2 to 3 hours away is foolish IMO.

Check out Paul Miller Bmw...now that's a nice looking dealership.
They also made BMWNA's list of best dealerships.

Guy's - thanks for all the reply regarding your experiences with NJ dealers. Now I have an idea on who to talk to. By the way I live in East Brunswick.

JMK, Open Road, Morristown BMW are long time sponsors of NJBMW CCA. If you are a member, please let them know.
I got mine at Flemington BMW. Great staff. Ask for Aubrey Kiley if you go there. Good luck. |

+1. I was going to say the same thing. Mr_Z and I both ordered M3's from Sal and he gave us deals that were unheard of
