Carbon Fiber Roof Restoration in Alabama / Georgia / Tennessee / Arkansas
I am sharing this for the good of the group, as I searched long and hard to find anyone who would even touch the carbon fiber roof on my 2012 E92 M3 Coupe. Virtually everyone I talked to said that they would only do a CF printed vinyl wrap to hide the flaws underneath or paint it after a new base had been skimmed on it. It seemed the only folks who would refinish carbon fiber were in California; while I’m in Birmingham, AL.
For anyone who has a CF roof with some age to it, you are probably already aware of the toll rock chips, UV, etc. takes on them. My car is a 2012, so it has 11 years of wear and tear on it. That said, she still looked VERY NICE overall, aside from an ugly scar in the front center of the roof and other chips and cracks forming on it. Note that I have NO financial or other interest in their business. Just happy to give them a shout out for the fantastic job they did AND to help anyone else in the Southeast who has struggled to find a good solution for CF roof repair. As they stay busy and this is a side business for them (They both work full time for a local luxury car dealership’s collision center) I had to book them a month out to get on their schedule. Also, they needed to have the car for a week to give time for the multiple layers to cure and be polished out (As my car is a DD, I scheduled for a week I was out of town). As you can see, they started by “peeling” the existing layers off, and they sent me updates as they went: https://photos.app.goo.gl/pKEr7RzVrPy7acos6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Q8ZszcTkWcuNpd8u7 https://photos.app.goo.gl/mAbajQXkxdkTagV5A I couldn’t be happier with the finished product. It looks BEAUTIFUL!!! No more ugly scar front and center and no more chips elsewhere: (Pics are a few days after a wash, so forgive me for them not showing how perfect it looks!) https://photos.app.goo.gl/LBfvuXhPs38ooHtz6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/TCCJ3gQS1sNgmvHR6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/vzM4uKQA2t7VgK3b7 Remember that scar front and center – No More: (The blue dot is a reflection in the camera) https://photos.app.goo.gl/Fzna8p4CuvShRFVJA FYI, I’m getting a PPF installed over it shortly (along with the front bumper, front quarters and hood), to try and help ensure long term performance. Again, just passing this along for the good of the group and to thank Hussey and Matt for the great job they did!!! If you’re in the Southeast searching high and low for someone to do CF Roof repair like I was – I HIGHLY recommend giving these guys a call!!!
