Coding Out EDC with Protools

Maybe my google and bimmerpost searching skills aren't up to par with some of y'all but has anyone successfully coded out EDC with Bimmergeek's Protools?

I found one case but it was with an E89. The link is here (take out the space between spool and street): https://www.spool street.com/threads/diy-coding-out-edc-on-e89-z4-with-protool.5719/

I found another on M3post, but it was vague on the how-to (post #2), I'll probably just message the guy: https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1680706

I'd rather not do any complicated coding (i.e. VO coding or whatever), and pressing enable and disable is certainly easier :]

Thank you in advance.

I never tried EDC coding (don't have it) but VO coding with Protools is very easy. Just a check box and save.

Hmmm, sounds great. While I wait for the possible answer, I'll probably explore it then and tread lightly pressing buttons uh oh

In Protools, just edit the VO to remove EDC 223, then it should tell you to recode KOMBI and CIC/CCC.

You have to unplug EDC module in the trunk (white/blue plug module)

Thank you for the instructions! If you don't mind me asking, can you elaborate on what recoding KOMBI and CIC/CCC entails?

you factory default code the KOMBI and CIC/CCC in Protools after the VO is edited and saved to both CAS and FRM modules.

Alternatively you can manually edit the VO changes.

saved from search notes:

## Code out edc
1) Disconnect EDC module. It's located on the passenger side rear quarter panel, accessible through the trunk. It's the module with 2 connectors (white and blue). Can't miss it.
2) Remove option $233 from Vehicle Order in CAS using FA_write; then change ECU and FA_write the NFRM.
3) In KOMBI set EDCK_ALIVE_ZAEHLER to nicht_aktiv and EDCK_ID_MONITOR to nicht_aktiv.
4) If you have the first gen idrive (08) in CAPPL set EDC to nicht_aktiv. / if you have the later idrive in CIC set EDC_CIC to nicht_aktiv
