More of that amazing Corsa exhaust note
I just picked up a Corsa exhaust and absolutely love the sound it generates. My only issue with it is, I need more of it!
I live in MA with annual inspections. So no way I'm dealing with installing/uninstalling test pipes. Could I remove the resonators and secondary cats to get approx. 20% more volume? Has anyone done this with a Corsa exhaust? I searched and couldn't find any info. Or...is there a catted xpipe that doesn't throw codes? Doubt it, but thought I would ask.

I think there is an xpipe that claims with o2 sensor extenders it won't throw a code. Ess street xpipe? Not sure.
I am curious what it would sound like with secondary cats gone? |

I faced the same dilemma with my car (I'm also in MA).
It had a Borla catback which made a great noise but I just wanted more volume. Tried a few options including the Remus x-pipe (really an h-pipe design) which removed the resonators and secondary cats. This was too loud, and I like a loud car when it sounds good, but this was over the top. No way you'd pass any legit MA inspection with this setup. The tone also changed for the worse with way more rasp being introduced. No bueno. I settled on the following setup in the end: I picked up a spare oem x-pipe and gutted the secondary cats leaving the oem resonators in place. This gave me exactly what I wanted, more volume but the same great tone the Borlas already gave me. Primary cats were still in place so no CELs, no smell, and, visually, the secondary cats still looked OEM from underneath the car as they were still in place just gutted. It was the perfect setup for me.

^^ this is really good to hear man. I've read quite a few posts where guys that gutted their secondary cats weren't happy with the slight increase in volume.
How much additional volume do you think you gained by gutting the secondary cats, 10%?

When I paired this exhaust setup with an Eventuri carbon plenum, the noise was glorious. You had the deep rumble of the exhaust down low and then, up top, the intake roar took over. God I miss the sound that car made.

25% would be perfect. Now I just need to find a shop that will gut my cats. Too cold now to do it in my driveway.

Oh I know. Pretty sure that's not going to pass MA annual state inspection. I'm not willing to uninstall/install every year.
