Just DIY'd Throttle Actuators
Gents,
Few weeks ago my E92 M3 went into limp mode and showed: FTM, DSC, DBC, Engine fault and Start assist inactive. Purchased a forum recommended Foxwell NT510 and this showed the throttle actuator on bank 2 had a fault. Quoted $2650 each for an actuators from BMW, didn't even ask about labour. AUD$1800 shipped (for two) from ECS Tuning (another $400 import tax later) and installed myself after work during the week. Part arrived in 8 days, to Victoria of all places. The YouTube tutorials and online information is plenty and the job itself simple. The Foxwell reader cleared the codes and car is all good. This is simply a post to encourage people to DIY when (not if) their throttle actuators go. I intend to slow time rebuild (gears and transistors?) my old ones and keep as spares. |

Rebuild.org.uk would certainly be cheaper again. Thanks for the link. |
