Rod Bearing Replacement in MA
Hey all, I live just outside Boston. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good local shop to do a rod bearing replacement, and what you paid for it.

What prompted you guys to change your rod bearings? Any sign of failures, or just for preventive reasons? Also, how did did your old rod bearing look?

You might want to hold off until the newly designed rod bearings are available: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...hlight=clevite |

The possibility of catastrophic engine failure is the catalyst. Some have failed at very low miles and without any warning. The pictures posted here on just about every set of removed rod bearings shows wear way beyond what it should be at the given mileage. |

They quoted me 17hrs labor at $100/hr plus whatever the price of parts are which I never looked into. So $1700 plus parts at Turner I believe EAS was doing them for about $23-2400 for the whole job so just something to compare that to
