DCT Transmission Oil Pump Upgrade

As many of you know the BMW DCT Oil Pump has been having failures. The dealers offer no upgrade but to purchase a new OEM unit. We at SSP have fixed the problem, so that you don't have buy a new 900.00 oil pump.

The failure is not the pump itself, but the bearings within the pump assembly. The DCT oil pump can operate at pressures above 18+ bar. The factory pump uses inferior needled bearings that fail. In time, these bearings wear out and cause catastrophic failure of the oil pump assembly.

We have developed a heavy duty bronze bearing that fixes this problem. Our solid bronze bearing has zero deflection and can withstand the high pressures the pump operates at.

The bearings cost 159.95. The bearings are designed to give long time performance and reliability over the factory bearing design.

Not sure about the SMG 3 pump, but this pump will soon be the issue for a lot of guys with higher mileage.

So, I'm assuming they implemented these needle bearings due to the gear oil not providing sufficient lubrication without them. I'm not calling Shenanigans, how does a brass bearing address this?

I'm just curious, if it's a dumb question, feel free to disregard.

No what your asking is not a dumb question at all. When using a solid bronze bearing there is zero deflection under load. I am going to shoot a short video in the near future to show exactly what I am talking about...
