Finally some action on this car but still here. A few offers, nothing quite strong enough to take it home yet but very close.
Would love to get rid of it in the next 2-3 weeks! |

Have 5 people that have shown real interest in the last week. And have had 3 offers that I'm not willing to take. Lots of talk but it's still here.
I'm firm at $20,000.00. Only selling the car because I do not have the room to keep it. It's a great car that can be driven for miles trouble free the day you buy it. No weird smells, codes, or issues. 2-owner properly maintained ZCP slicktop manual. At some point in the next 15 years, this will be a $50,000 car with 200k miles on it. I really believe that. I'm not rich enough to keep it and watch this happen. Please if you contact me and ask me 1000 questions, be serious. I know buying an E90 M3 can be scary, they aren't cheap cars to own BUT if you're looking for one in this price range, you really won't find a better car then this one. Let's move this thing! |

M3
Not to be a downer but - hard to imagine you haven't provided a Blackstone report. I'd be interested in the car knowing I'd take a $3000 hit replacing the rod bearings - but the car has no value to me if the crank is toast.
FYI - I just test drove an M3 with mileage in the 60k range with bearings already replaced as recommended by the owners indy shop - and that was a one owner un-abused car. |

Good question on Blackstone report, and there is some debate on this issue for 2011 cars. It is my understanding that BMW changed the composition of the rod bearings in 2011, so a Blackstone report will not clearly reflect an issue with the rod bearings.
Also, I don't see your comparison of a car with only 60k and rod bearings replaced relevant because it's not apples to apples comparison. But I do think your basic point that anyone purchasing this specific E90 must factor in $3k for rod bearings is absolutely true, and makes this car a tough sell in the current pandemic environment. Congrats - this has been an epic for sale thread. RU comfortable sharing sale price? If not no worries. Curious though as the really desirable rare spec was offset by high miles, small accident, and rod bearings still needed.
Enjoy ur new M2. |

I got the current asking price for it, $20,000. It came with the AFE Mach II exhaust, Intake and Sprint Booster Installed + the stock exhaust and intake.

Too funny. I have started cruising the E9x M classifieds again lately and have been considering picking up a nice, higher mileage one. First thing that came to mind was, "I wonder if that red one is still for sale..."
Congrats on the sale. (Still) looks like a great deal! |
