I just took a quick look at over at radardetector dot net. There is quite a debate about this on the Valentine One forum. I think it safe to say that the consensus does not seem very flattering to this thing. Caveat emptor.
BTW, the post is labeled "Modified V1" for those that want to read it.

Cool. Thanks. I'll probably stick with getting it from ValentineOne directly. Looks like something I can do myself if I took the time to figure it out.

The two that we prefer is the K40 caliber dl/h with diffuser ex and the passport 9500ci the technology in the 9500 is a bit more advanced then the k40 and we prefer the cosmetics and control of the k40 to the 9500. Both great built in solutions we use everyday. The biggest thing these have over ANY of the dash mount units in protection against laser not just detection. Have a good afternoon. Happy Sunday!

As far as the Escort 9500ci, it is $1600 and it comes with a crappy laser jammer called the Escort Shifter ZR4 that doesn't work very well at all. http://guysoflidar.com/july-2008/laser-jammer-test.html If you want an excellent laser jammer, the K40 and Escort ZR4 are not even close to the Laser Interceptor in performance. http://www.laser-interceptorusa.com/ |

With the advent of red light cameras that are monitoring not only red lights, but speed as well, I am adding the 9500ix to my car for city driving and going with my Valentine 1 on the highway. Not as many falses on the highway that I drive 95% of the time.
I think Valentine needs to get off his ass and start innovating that little black brick. If his patent ever expires on the directional arrows, he's a sitting duck for sitting on his laurels this long. |
