Most of the posts here are about cars with relatively low mileage...
I'm sitting at 65k miles right now, is it insanely expensive to get an extended warranty at this point? |

I know the exhaust is not covered under warranty, but not sure if a mod would void anything. |

I have an ASC Extended Warranty and have only taken my car to the dealer to be repaired. The policy is exclusionary and I have a 0 deductible.

I was quoted $4087 plus tax for 6yr/60k miles. 250 deductible. I have 2012 e92 with 29k miles. Wonder why such a big difference?

As I mentioned, mileage and year is a big factor! Josh mentioned to me that I was lucky to be under 20k still as its a big jump after I hit that number.. |

Does anyone have any personal experience with Zurich? I have an option of going with them or Fidelity. I've heard Zurich is just as good but after some searching I found nothing more other than they don't cover throttle actuators.
Any insight would be helpful. |

How is Fidelity when it comes to mods? I am approaching the end of my OEM warranty, and I am definitely looking into aftermarket, however I am concerned about their response to a modified car. I want to install a supercharger after my OEM warranty runs out, and currently I have an IPE bolt on exhaust, Brembo BBK and HRE wheels. Will they still be willing to cover repairs?

This is a good tread; one that I first looked at last year and later when making on a decision to buy or pass on an extended warranty.
Comments were useful. Ultimately, I did opt for an extended (third party) warranty as the BMW rep wanted what was an IMO an exorbitant amount for three years; a time frame that was less that what I wanted to purchase. I began my research by contacting service employees that were long time acquaintances that worked in BMW service or for another brand to find out which third party companies were most difficult for them to deal with and which were easiest for them to deal with on extended warranty matters. There were a couple of recurring names for the "easiest" to get repair approval. I phoned both. Prices were reasonable for the respective coverage plans, but my choice was to go with a coverage plan that spanned five years as high mileage is not an issue. So far, I've filed no claims through the fifth month of extended warranty. The terms of coverage:
