I'm also very surprised with the sedan pricing. But I doubt people with sedan deposits are complaining lol

what's the gas guzzler going to be?
any guesses? mine 19.6 or $1700 then again the M5 is 16.5, and the M3 only 80% of the displacement/power, lighter, narrower tires...so 16.5/0.8 ~ 20.6/$1300? |

Personally, I'm not surprised at all on those prices (right with what I estimated), much less on the Sedan's... that's going to be the real volume seller that will help achieve BMW's 100,000 M3 volume goal.
There was no other way to get that number but with a real attractive price... only $5000 more than the E46 M3 Coupe. Thanks BMW... you just sold two more cars to me. |

I have to say, and I think I speak for everyone on the board in the US market. The pricing was well worth the wait. Thank you BMW.

Coupe pricing is an increase of over $8k. That's not all good.

With the current US to Can dollar relationship I'd guess about the same price as our cars wouldn't you? LOL

Canadian pricing factor
My wife's company (Steelcase commercial office furniture) just dropped their Canadian premium from 25% to 5%. I would guess BMW will be around that.

Isn't the RS4 in the CAD 90s? No way the M3 is going to be close in CAD to ~60k! The pricing will reflect the local market structure.

So glad pricing is finally here, and glad I did not give in to tempation and buy a E93 335i last year when it debuted. A year later we have the M3 sedan at just 5k more MSRP, and a sedan is the better choice at this point in my life anyway.

Well, the 335i sedan starts at 38,900 in the US, and 49,900 in Canada. I have a feeling that we're going to be paying a pretty hefty premium still. The RS4 starts at 95,000 here...
Using a 28% premium (based on the 335 differential), we'd be at around 70K base (for the sedan... i used the sedan because that's the one that interests me). This is all approximation because packages may be different (i.e. leather might be included in the base price here).
