North America buys more M3 cars than the rest of the world combined. We are very lucky to get these high performance cars at the reduced prices we do. Everything is relative.

You guys are very lucky in the USA.
The M3 price will not drop in Australia. The previous M3 was around AUD$140,000, thats like USD$130,000 at the moment. My M3, on the road, has cost me the equivalent of USD$164,000 with current exchange rates, and that is with a slight discount through my work. Also, in Australia, around half my income is taxed at 47.5%. Australia is undoubtedly the best place to live in the world, and I have travelled a lot, but we certainly pay for it with our dosh. |

Yeh OzStriker is spot on.
We have a wonderful thing in Australia called "luxury car tax" that adds 25% to the car straight away. European cars are not cheep in Australia to start with so we certainly cop it in the anus over here for our imported toys. OzStriker is in the Eastern States of Australia so he is fortunate that there are a number of BMW dealers which gives you the opportunity to shop around for pricing (not that dealers would be discounting M3’s just now I suppose). I am in Perth in Western Australia, and in the whole of the State (an area about 40% of the size of the entire USA, with 2 million people) there is only one BMW dealership. Sure makes it hard to shop around. The price of my car was AUD $182k (on the road) with all options apart from the Climate Comfort Windscreen. That is full Australian list price, no discounting. Want an M3 over here? Please bend over. Expensive place to buy cars, but a beeeeeeeautiful country to enjoy them. |

No, as I said, Logic 7 is not available on the US spec M3. The standard audio is the same system, or similar system to the standard system on the us spec 328i, and the optional one is the individual high end audio system. Which is stupid IMO, as the Logic 7 is standard on the 335i.

I agree, let's be grateful we get the M for $65K. All other countries are have to pay much more. Even Canada pays about 20% more than we do. Question is, what is the value of this car? I don't think I'd pay $120K bones for it! But man do i Love this car and the price we pay!
