wrong! M6 is the Pinnacle - or is it the Alpina 7? I still rather have the M3 coupe.

OP: just think of it like this: Different Strokes for Different Folks. M5 may not be as athletic of a torque curve as the new M3 or as nice of a track car, buts it still is a monster whose V10 is still an awesome motor and great fun to drive

m6 is the m5 coupe lol. M5 is still faster! more powerful... the driving experience of that m-dct should be great and enough to make u get an m3 instead. I'm sure m5/6 should get a dct upgrade before redesigns.

uh - the tests I have seen have the M6 edging out the M5 in almost all performance measures, the M6 weighs less and has the CF roof.

Yes, some say the M6 is the M5 coupe, but it's not really. It's a totally different car. They look nothing the same, not like the M3 sedan and M3 coupe.

The M6 looks the part of a 205 mph supercar, the M5 doesnt. Thats why I love my M5, people have no idea what just hit them More than any other car I have ever had it is a time machine |

the M5 is in a class of its own, its a techno show case, it has soo much technology in it, on top of that the V10 is absolutely brilliant.

Well what did you expect? A 4.0L V8 vs a 5.0L V10. As the saying goes "There's no replacement for displacement". M5s are for people who want to be fast and flashy, M3s are for people who love cars and driving.

I love cars and driving. I have taken my E46 M3 & E60 M5 to the track, and the M5 does remarkably well for a beast of its size. The M5 is extremely capable, and as an added bonus its always nice to know I can lay waste to most any car I will run into on the road at any given time There are M5 owners that are just poseurs, and never take the opportunity to see what their car can do on a challenging road just for the hell of it. But the same applies to alot of BMW owners in general |

I did the Performance Center Delivery and was able to track the M5 at the end of the day. I was simply stunned at how it could perform in the turns with the size and weight of the car. Then my expectations were blown away again when my instructor took us around the track in the M5. It will exceed any sane person's limits on public roads when it comes to cornering, and of course everyone already knows about straightline performance.
I'm sure the m5 & m3 are close in 0-60 performance but when you put the hammer down at 80 or 100 and then watch the needle move it's night and day between the two cars. Watch the seemingly unending acceleration on the speedo here up to 140 mph (just a few seconds into the video) |

I got to drive an M5 around Cal speedway about four laps - the Roval. I was impressed but not thrilled with it like I am with my e92 M3.
