Bummer. Can't make these days. I would have loved to hang out.
BTW, ORP with TURN2 on July 6/7 is a GO for sure. Very light number of registrants so far so it'll be intimate with PLENTY of seat time. If you can make it, that's not one to miss. I know I am all giddy about it!

Just got my new NT01s mounted in prep for ORP. They are dated 1013 (March 2013). Hopefully, splicing issue is taken care of. We shall see.
Wish I could've gone this weekend as well. Have a blast! |

Have you run CCW at ORP? I have once and have to say it is better than CW. Help me talk Tom into running CCW on Sunday the 7th! |

I believe the plan is to run one direction the first day, and the other direction the second day. Not sure which is which though. You should ping Tom and as him.

Fun day guys! Beat my M3 time by about half a second so I met my goal for the day! The S2000 took a lot more finesse to drive at the limit no power to overcome corner speed mistakes, LOL.
Anyone know anything about the pink-wrapped E92 M3? I mostly want to know the exhaust because it sounded worse than I've ever heard. Like an old beat-up boat.

HOD = Good Guys
A bad day at the track is better than work....its true. The entire drive line on my car is solid mount so it takes a beating. The trans was going out so put a new to me unit in this past week. Well it was defective from the first session. In any case I had to pack up early. Don of HOD was nice enough to give me a credit for another day! If you have not run with them you should give them a shot. Oh, they served the best breakfast and lunch I have had at the track!

I still feel the best and only way to tell if you are improving or not is through timing so I always get confused by some of the PCA and BMWCCA instructors who insist on removing timing equipment. I assume its for insurance reasons but some of them claim that it distracts from learning etc. My best was a 1:57 ... a second faster than last time I was there so I'm super happy that I'm improving every time I get out there. Hopefully I'll be touching 1:55 soon. I also managed to capture awesome video footage with great sound using my two gopros ... I will post it up when I've had a chance to edit and stitch them together. Last edited by w00tw00t; 07-03-2013 at 09:30 AM.. |

I didn't actually time. My wife did one lap by hand at 2:03 then I talked with others I was pacing fairly close. If I had to guess I would say I went faster than the 2:02. It felt to me like 2:00 but could be wishful thinking.

In my experience I feel Hooked On Drivind (HOD) handles run group individually........and they are flexible given the make up of each group. Lots of instruction, group down loads, passing restrictions for the beginner group. This is welcome and needed for beginners. I have run with some car clubs that are nearly as rigid with the intermediate and advanced groups. I am beyond that type of over cite and don't enjoy those groups. But HOD will loosen up the passing rules if everyone plays nice......might even be open passing with point mixed with instructors if the group can handle it. So I guess they have something for every skill level.

Edit: Sorry.....I had the wrong dates/weekend
NASA has a HPDE, Time Trial and racing the weekend July 13-14 at PIR. Once again TT is open passing with No point needed. It actually really works well. I can only make it one day.....not sure which at this point. Last edited by PrimeBMW; 07-03-2013 at 11:15 AM.. Reason: Wrong dates |

I'll most likely be doing the PCA day at the Ridge on the 22nd with a friend who has a 911 Turbo.
Do you guys run EDC Normal or Sport there? http://www.pnwr.org/Track/driver_ed/default.asp Hope to see some of you guys! |

They have HPDE 1,2,3 and 4/Time Trial. You can rent a transponder for TT. I think it is $180 for one day. |
