Modded M3 DCT vs ESS VT1-535 M3 6MT
Ran into slowestz last night, we did a couple runs........mods for each car:
My (camera) Car: 2011 M3 DCT, Full Gintani Catless Exhaust (sport), MS pulley, MS filter, RPI scoops, No tune yet slowestZ (other) Car: 2011 M3 6MT, Gintani Race Axle-back, ESS VT1-535 Blower First race, 20ish-130ish....both cars spinning through first: Second race, 20ish-100ish...both cars spinning again: its obvious hes putting down more power....DCT was the only thing letting me hang. enjoy |

I understand DCT will help but with a car making another supposed 100+whp it should definitely pull harder.. Is he a horrible driver? How come he doesn't initially pull atleast (when shifting doesnt matter)? |

Hes a good driver.....he doesnt initially pull because he was on stock wheel/tires while I'm running 11" rears with 295s with less power and around 200lbs more in my car (we both had a passenger, but we weighed alotmore)....I'm hooking better while hes spinning more....
..I see where your coming from though....I was shocked too when I was able to hang |

Wow!
it's very surprising, i have no problem sticking 1-2 car lengths at my friend C63, accelerating from 40 to 160km/h. My car is manual, i have Michelin PSS 275 in rear, Remus race cat-back and VT1-535 .... it's a very strange result.

Just to clarify everything.... Both runs I was on 2nd gear about 30mph. Because for me to start at first gear jus means moreeee wheel spin... He initially pulled on me and I was very surprised and I can feel that dct was shifting faster at least a sec faster than me .... I def have traction issues and I believe he have a lot weight in the car also ... I'm very impressed with his car... Looks and sounds awesome also pretty fast... I'm having 275 rear kdw ta coming in next week so hopefully sometime later we can do it again with better footage for you guys.... I also had a gf in the car that was bitching me out the whole time we were running Hahahha...nice meeting u again Rick

Def a better driver than me.... Ern knows how ny road is we barely get a chance to go over 120 ( potholes and other cars on the road) we were lucky somehow we all went to watch midnight show of hangover2 and we got out around 2am and they just paved the road we were on...

is the ESS car on stock rubber size? i've ridden in a VT1 on stock tires before, pretty useless anything up to mid of 3rd gear where it finally gets some grip.

Also everyone is comparing a moded M3 and a VT1 535 and neglecting that that the moded M3 is DCT. Check out this link just to get an idea how much faster does the DCT shifts: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=515881 I yet to see or hear about a human DCT means shifting a 6MT as fast as DCT. |
