First Aid Kit under Front Seats
Has anyone tried to install the optional first aid kit container under the front seats in a sedan or coupe? This is the first aid kit container that is standard I think in the European E93? I had them under both front seats in my previous M3 and used them as an extra storage space--was very handy (you can get to it from inside the car, and its not visible from the outside, and uses dead *******. Here's the info on the parts from Realoem.
In my previous M3 it was an easy install (tapped the existing holes) and mounted like a charm. |

Interesting. I might look into this some time in the summer.
Thanks.

Looks interesting. Can you provide a list of part numbers needed?

I'm going to try to order the mounting part and empty box from the dealer in Paris...I looked under the seat and there are a number of pre-drilled holes that may match the ones on the mounting points (they are probably the same ones as for the fire extinguisher).
There was a guide for an E46 325i that described how to mount the box (the only semi-tricky thing was that you needed to tap the existing holes to thread them, but its pretty easy if you go slow). I'll try to find it. I'll keep this updated as I go along. |

Thanks for the part number listing Gelsenpower.
E90M3CDFR, keep us updated on your progress with this as I'd really be interested in adding this box under the passenger seat and a fire extinguisher under the driver seat if possible.

This is a mod I have on my list too.
The E90 and E92 seats have a larger/different fairing around the front base of the seat. It will either need to come off or be cut in order for the first aid box to fit. I looked at my boss's E93 and I think it's doable, but not a simple bolt-on. There is a slim chance you will need to remove 52106958659 and 52106958660.

So did anyone end up installing this on the Coupe? I used the same euro 1st aid cubbies on my e46M3. Great for sunglasses etc. I was thinking storage on one seat and a fire extinguisher on the other.

I would like to know as well. This would be a great add of storage space. I have plenty of things I would put in there.
But I wonder why it looks as if its only for convertibles. Are their seats different? http://parts.bmwofsouthatlanta.com/p...106971063.html D |

It exists because the verts don't carry the 1st Aid kit in trunk like the Coupe & Sedans do. It should work. It looks like it leverages the same holes that would be used to mount a fire extinguisher bracket. I'm just surprised that no one has tried it yet. Great way to reclaim storage space up front.

I tried ordering this but #3 is not available. Would be nice to have extra storage space for sunglasses and misc items without having to reach for the glove box.

I still have the one from my E46, which looks the same. Hopefully, it will bolt right up with the proper fasteners.
Edit: Forgot I butchered my bracket - was going to mount it in the trunk.

10"w. x 3-1/4"h. x 3"/4-1/2"d. (stepped, top is deeper than bottom). Caveat: This is the E46 one; the current one may well be different. In the diagram it does not look stepped in profile.
