Does any body know the offical F/F tyre dimensions for the E92 M3? Interested to know for 18/19.
360mm front brake disc is impressive but single piston caliper again? |

I´ve read that they are 245/40 & 265/40 on 18". As you can see, the wider rears have the same aspect ratio as the fronts (40), making those taller overall. This situation is very common on Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc, but new to BMW (which always had lower aspect ratios for the wider rears).
I do not know the tire sizes for 19". The Geneva concept had Michelin Pilot Cup tires from the E46 CSL in 235/35 & 265/30, but I guess that the production version of the E92 will have even wider tires (maybe 245/35 & 265/35).

Tire sizes
Per the German price list, the stock wheels are 8.5/9.5 x 18 w/ 245/40 & 265/40 ZR tires. The optional 19s are same width but with 35-series tires, of course.

On the (red) one, on which the official photos and videos were made, there are 245/40 18 on both front and back. But I'm sure it won't be like this on the production vehicles.

No, the rears on that car are definitely larger than the fronts. No way they they would showcase a square setup on the M3.

It is better if they have 245/40 front and 265/35 rear or 275/35 rear. |

Regarding DTC, ABS, etc, they all work based on a signal from the wheel rotation sensors, which is then processed by the corresponding electronic module. By applying a correction algorithm, the information from the rear wheels can be easily adjusted by the BMW engineers.

I think 275/35 or more still fit under rear fender. THis is the first M to have rear tire with taller diameter than the front. |

I believe this is the first BMW (not only M) to have taller rear wheels. Porsche is also starting to use taller rear wheels now. Until the 996, they had almost identical diameters for front and rear wheels, but since the 997, they are using taller rears. For example the 997 has 235/40 18 up front and 265/40 18 on the rear, while the 993 had 225/40 18 and 265/35 18.

Better steering feedback due to lower unsprung weight.

18" or 19" which is better?
The videos of the red ///M3 going around country roads appears to have 18" wheels, not 19". While I feel 19" will give the M a better and more aggressive look, will it affect ride comfort even with the 40-aspect ratio tyre at the rear?

Ride comfort with 19s
Certainly it would have a minor effect. However, I went from 18s to 19s on my E46 and barely noticed the difference. The 40-series tires will have about the same sidewall as 45s on the E46. Should be fine.

I think 265 with 35 aspecct ratio (19inch) should affect the ride quality that much. My Box is using 265 40 18inch in the back and that's pretty cushy.
