I want those Laguna wheels for my red and black GT500. Gonna call the dealer and see if they can order them

I am pretty sure the rev cut off is at 8000 rpm.
Talk about a high-revving muscle car.

*waiting for the M3 vs Boss 302 comparison* .. This would be a VALID comparison as Ford did mention that the M3 was the benchmark when conceptualizing/building the Boss 302.

7500rpm for the Boss, while 7krpm for the GT.

I really like this car! Maybe I'll pick one up next year...
BTW, I think they are being a bit disingenuous when they say it's faster than a '10 M3 around Laguna Seca. They're using rcompound tires on the LS version so it's not really a fair comparison.... Still probably a bigger bang for the buck! BC

Did they specifically say that it was only the LS version that is faster than the M3 around the LS track? It was not clear to me from the press release that that was the case.

Another reason the M division should give the 2012 a power bump or offer a power package...
I am going to have a hard time not wanting this over the M3 come early 2011 and I am already a sucker for muscle cars...

Because the rev-cut off is typical a few hundred rpm higher than the redline.
The GT for instance can get up to 7200 - 7300 rpm despite the 7000 rpm redline. That makes me think the boss can indeed get close to 7900 - 8000 rpm.

Ford set the M3 as the benchmark which is saying a lot. I am waiting to see the Laguna Seca lap time comparison. I'm hoping for good results from the BOSS 302.

Not particularly impressed, partly because I have never been a fan of the looks of the Mustang.
The car will probably best the M3 in quite a few performance metrics making it a slightly better bang for the buck. Unfortunately you have to suffer with inferior fit, finish, refinement, quality, etc. Thus the cars will be in the same performance category but not in the same overall category.

A limited slip is standard with a torsen optional on the base Boss and standard on the LS.Recaro's will be a free standing option on the base car standard on a LS. Who wants an automatic manual for a track car.Not me for sure after watching the experiances of M-DCT owners. Most of us who track our M3's run a wider tire setup than the Boss is using. Heavier than what? Its a track car not a poser car that is not comprimised for a nice street ride. I love my M3 for normal use and also works OK on the track, not great but the Boss LS is game changer in the world of track ready specials that are affordable. |

Tuning in great, but we are discussing max RPM for a factory stock car. BTW, you never answered my questions from earlier? Are you really spinning the stock GT bottom end to 8000 RPM? |

Also, keep in mind that Swamp doesn't have his facts straight that even the base V6 Mustang gets a limited slip diffy, as do all Mustangs. Its just that the LS version of the Boss will get the Torsen. Regarding weight, the weight is almost identical to what the M3 is.
