Midpipe question
Any thoughts or info on what would be quieter/louder at IDLE OR LOW LOAD:
1. Midpipe with no cats and four resonators ie Dinan 2. Midpipe with 200cell cats and two resonators ie AA This would apply to any cat-back, but specifically I'm running the AA cat-back. Thanks in advance... |

I'm pretty sure most catless systems are louder than systems with hfcs. I don't know about Dinan since they tend to be more conservative. Hopeflly someone can help you answer your question.

Thanks guys, anyone who has had an HFC set-up and subsequently gone catless want to chime in (haven't some of the FI peeps done this recently)? If so what were the resonator set ups on your systems pre and post change, and how did things change with regards to my original question?

If you're referring to the X Pipe alone, (without an axleback) then virtually anything will be drone-free due to the rear muffler. I run completely catless and I have no drone because I'm still runing my stock rear muffler.

I'm speaking of loudness level in general at low load or idle, nothing to do with drone. Think "piss off the neighbors score" when driving at low speed out of the neighborhood. I'm running AA cat-back now and considering a full midpipe with the two configurations listed in the OP. So which one would have a lower/higher PONS (piss off neighbors score). Thanks

Not true - AA X-Pipe with HFCs + Stock Rear Muffler = lots of drone and resonance
