quick interior mod
Took my I drive knob out. Sanded it, painted it.
You will either like it, completely hate it or think matte black would have been better I like it Cam phone = picture sucks ![]() |

Looks pretty nice IMO. Anodizing would be cool as well and is super durable. The OEM part is actually clear anodized. You can get a different amount of gloss with a different grades of steel wool before anodize or with a different amount of acid etch (can be done by anodizer). I think it would look pretty cool anodized. You could do other colors as well with anodize.

You might want to give it a textured finish with something like bumper paint or SEM texture paint. It will match better with the plastic console trim and give it some nice grip. Good idea though.

Yeah I was thinking about that. I did it overnight and threw it back in...later when I have more time ill experiment with different textures.

Cool I never thought about doing anything with the knob until right now, I'm going to play around tonight and paint my Idrive knob matte black and we'll see how it turns out.
I'll post pics, if I don't like it, I'll just buy another one on ebay. They only run for about $100 |

When it's completely dry, no. Besides just get a cloth when you are cleaning your interior and it'll shine right back. I was going to paint an outline of the ///m in red but that woulda looked hella tacky.
