I’m working on my short fuse and apologize to anyone I may have offended.

Knock control and knock tables are not disabled. We’re not trying to be the most powerful tune on the market—we aim to be the safest and most reliable.

If your tune from us is from before 2022, I suggest updating it and then comparing it to other tunes. You may be surprised by the results. We also offer unlimited tune revisions for the life of your purchase, not just a single tune.
Hi Alex,

once tuned, how do I learn if/when there is a later sw revision?

Thanks
Nik

Long story short, the Epic tune is nothing short of Epic.. I was skeptical, thinking that the tune would just be the same as an Alpine tune just repackaged with a different cable and interface but that is totally wrong. Epic definitely feels a bit stronger but besides the bump in power throughout the range, the throttle mapping seems much better, the car starts and idles better, and it sounds better too. Honestly Alpine seems kind of a junk budget tune and after reading about some people's experiences with Alex, can't recommend the Alpine tune at all even if it's half the price of the Epic tune.

I also did Epic's DCT flash, which is a version of the GTS flash. The car previously had the GTS flash provided by Alex at Alpine and I can't say that I notice a big difference between the two versions of the DCT flash.
If you haven’t tried a newer version of our engine tune, I suggest giving it a try. You can always flash back to your previous tune if you prefer. Our newer calibrations are night-and-day different. The idle has been refined and sharpened, power delivery is smoother, and overall drivability has improved significantly.I don’t believe anyone has tuned as many E9x M3s as we have. If the claims about failures were true, you would see reports of failures every week on the forums. We still process over 200 tune requests per week, and we have customers with well over 100,000 miles on our tunes, with some vehicles approaching 200,000 miles overall. If you’d like to run a dyno comparison between tunes, I’ll pay for the dyno session. Just send me an email with your plan. You can have the dyno operator log the car and review the data to see if there is any knock activity or other issues. In 2019, something life-changing happened to me, and my personality changed. I was carrying a chip on my shoulder and snapped at a lot of people. I understand when someone says, “He has a bad attitude” or advises others not to work with me because of my attitude at the time. However, the claims that we disable knock tables, brick cars, or have widespread engine failures are simply not true. I believe much of this comes from a combination of people who are still angry with me personally and others who have alternative motives, such as generating sales for competing products or services.

Hi Nik

Check the date you received your email with your tune file. If it’s before 2023 request a new tune from your registered email address.

I recently had great experience with Alpine. I was having some annoying issues on my ESS M3 with another tuners map. I'm not dropping names, but it got to the point where I was starting to not like the car anymore. I reached out to Alex and he let me try his Supercharger tune for a few days before purchasing it and sure enough it had resolved my issues and I'm happy. I also purchased his Supercharger DCT tune prior to the ecu tune and that made quite the difference. I'm going through a phase where I'm trying to find the perfect exhaust note and I recently switched to a forward X-pipe and it was nice getting an updated file at no charge. If I decide to switch back to my rear x-pipe, at least I already have that tune on my desktop ready to go. Which tuner would let you try his tune for a few days with a guarantee that the problem will be resolved before letting you pay for the tune? I don't think there's much out there.
