2023 BMW X4M 40i

Hello all. New to the forum. I will be picking up this 2023 X4 M40i in a few days.
The dealer sent me some pics and I have a question that the dealer didnt know.
Why is there a 72 on the gas filler lid? I looked it up and found out it is the size of the filler neck.....But why is this on the outside? It is not a sticker.
Any help much appreciated.

Welcome and congrats on your bimmer.

No idea what that is or why it’s on the outside of the fuel door. Never seen that before.

My question would be how it's on the outside. Is it just a decal or something? I'd want to make sure that it could be easily removed; in fact, I'd insist that the dealer remove it – that way if something got messed up it was on them. Or just have them replace the fuel door altogether.

Thanks for all who replied. I am going to ask dealer to remove or replace.
Its the strangest thing. Have never seen this on any other car.
It is definitely the size of the nozzle that the 72 represents.
