Advice on 93A motor and 80a transmission mounts

Does anyone have experience running 95A motor mounts with 80A transmission mounts? I am thinking of ordering this set from Revshift and was curious to see what people think of this combination for street and track (NVH, overall handling impact, etc). Alternative is 80A for both motor and transmission mounts.

Thanks.

just get the 80A Engine and Trans mount instead, the 95A with OEM is harsh already.

95A Engine + Trans is going to send shivers down your spine.

So the 95A engine / 80A trans cannot be run on the street ? The car will be used primarily on the track but I need to drive it there and back. Will also be adding ohlins dedicated track coilovers which already come with fairly stiff springs.

I went with BW Group N motor (close to 80A) and RevShift 80A trans mounts. The 95A are brutal with vibration at idle. You can always have a tuner increase the idle to help offset the NVH, but I decided on a route that would allow me to not do that.

I’ve thought about that combo before, but it’s really not necessary unless you’re in a 6-speed with a CAE or another self-centering shifter. That setup benefits from very stiff mounts.

For DCT, I wouldn’t run 95A engine + 80A trans. The shifts hit harder on the drivetrain, and you actually want the trans mount to absorb a bit of that shock. A setup like 95A engine mounts with the 034 trans mount is a safer balance if you really want it stiffer.

80A engine + 80A trans on a DCT is fine too, but again, the 034 trans mount would be the better choice overall.

Just be prepared to raise your idle if you go with 95A engine mounts to keep the vibration manageable. The added vibration is what leads to premature wear, so softening that at idle helps a lot.

Thanks guys - appreciate your responses. Am at the beginning of planning my track build so still learning about the various mount options. Do you have a part number for the 034 trans mounts ?

I really like the idea of 034's Density's Engine mounts and Street density Trans mounts.
The Bimmerworld and Group-N 70A style engine mounts still put alot of vibration in the cabin at idle, even after break in, for those who still street the car, which is really annoying.

A solid 55A engine and 70A trans mount, will def be an improvement over stock mounts, but still be very streetable. I have a set of Street density Trans mounts I need to install as we speak.

I'm running a set of custom HD stock fluid-style mounts, along with stock trans mounts, and the 034 is really what I've been needing to add to help tighten up the drive-train movement. Will try to install these soon!

FWIW I run BW engine mounts with stock trans mounts, a little more NVH but nothing wild on the street. Noticeable difference in power delivery tho so I’d say it’s worthwhile

I don’t mind trading some NVH on the street for better handling on track. Just want to make sure 80a motor and trans doesn’t shake my teeth out on the way there …
