Track tire size advice please

Hi all,

I am thinking changing my tires or wheels in order to dial out some of the understeer... Would running a larger front tire help , like 255/35 19 on stock 220M wheels ?

Or would I need to go to a square setup ( I like the Apex SM-10rs wheels) , maybe in a 18x10 et25 setup - anyone runs these by any chance, and looks fine ? I don't like spacers...

18x10 is the most common size.

You can find a ton of info if you search. The Apex wheel fitment guide is also very helpful and will answer a ton of questions.

+1 agree with the above. Running 19's are a bit much in my opinion for track setup. I run 18x10 275/35/18 square which also allows you to rotate tires around the car to prolong tire life and performance.

In terms of how the car looks, its totally subjective, but I've never had a person come up to me and say "man your car would look so much better with 19's".

18x10 +25 is the most common 'easy' fit option for this chassis. Pair with 265/35 or 275/35 (could do 285/30, but I prefer either the 265 or 275) for lots of good tire options.

If you're a fitment geek like some us, you'll want small spacers front and rear if you have a more aggressive alignment with camber for more flush fitment. But out of the box they fit as is with pretty much any suspesion and alignment setup.

Keep in mind that some suspensions will have a spring perch that prevents you from running 18x10 +25 without spacers. I have to run a 10mm spacer up front to clear my KW clubsports (I have a swift shorty spring, but I've never gotten around to pulling the front end apart to swap springs). If I could, I would spec a set of wheel to have +17 offset, not only for the spring perch clearance, but also to fill out the stance when running 3+ degrees of camber.

My suspension is stock ... do I need spacers? I hate spacers.

No, you’ll be fine without with that setup.

You can run 17's with stock brakes - 17x10 et25 - Apex ARC8s.

Saves lots of money on tires although selection is more limited.

Does anyone have a pic of this setup on the car 18x10 ET25 (from an angle) without spacers? Just to see how they look ?

Ravaglioli platform scissor lift. I couldn’t do a 2 post because it’s on the second story. The floor is precast concrete hollowcore slabs with a skim coat on top. These don’t meet the specs for 2 post lift anchor bolts. I’d be afraid the anchor bolts would just pull the skim coat up.
The large platforms distribute the weight and it’s all compression, where concrete shines.
Only sacrifice is I can’t access the rocker panels. Underneath is fully open with clear access to everything in the center of the car.

Nice! I currently have a quickjack, and the scissor lift looks like a better option. Would save me from having to move the damn things out of the way after every use, and looks to be much more practical and affordable than a 2 post, which I really don’t need.
