Cdv delete. Clip wont snap into place

So i just did the cdv delete and i cannot get the clip that holds the line in place to snap back into the groove. Ive messed with this thing for an hour and a half taking it out and trying again. It is in the groove but wont snap in for some reason. Do you have to put a little space in between the lines for it to line up maybe? What am i missing. Has anyone experienced this problem? It just spreads the clip apart.

I got it. I was going in the wrong side.
