Need help with Recaro PP seat mounting options please.

Hey guys,

I have an E92 M3 LCI with the extra heavy seats where the headrests are supposed to explode forwards in the event of a rear and collision.

I'm looking online and when people replace them with Macht Schnell floor adapters and Recaro sliders, the saving is approximately 63 lbs.

Source:

When I go to my local race shop up here in Toronto they're suggesting I purchase adapters that can work with a harness and also retain the existing forward-back, up-down motors and sliders. Can't remember the brand something like "Grey Klaus"

I'm wondering how much heavier that is?? Does anyone have experience with this?

It’s Brey-Krause you retain the forward and back electronic adjustment but will lose the up and down. From what I’ve seen and personally sat in that doesn’t really lower the seat much if at all. But this is the best one out there that will keep the seat centered correctly as it uses the stock mounts.

I just installed the Pole Position ABE with Macht Schnell Clubsport mounts and that’s consistent with the measurements I took with my seats in terms of weight savings. The Clubsport base is pretty heavy, I’m sure the direct to floor options are lighter but I wanted forward and backward mobility. The Clubsports also didn’t free up a tremendous amount of headroom because as far as I could tell I had to mount them pretty high to clear the lap belt holes. Might spend a bit more time with it at a later point.

How much does it weigh and where do you put the buttons for forward and backwards?

Each plate will weigh about 200-300 grams, they are made of 6082 aluminum.

I don't know what buttons you are referring to, the sliders are of manual seats:

Where did you purchase these? I have manual sliders and have been looking for an alternative for mounting buckets. Didn’t want to go with BK mounts as they sit high still. I’ve had MS clubsport mounts and same results. If you can send a link thanks

I made the mounting plates myself, oem plates of the f82 gts cost 1000 euros each, it's crazy, mine cost 350 euros for 2 seats.

I just bought a set from a German retailer and the cost was much better. He sells on eBay but you can order direct on his site for less.
