2011 M3 repeatedly destroying crankshaft pos sensor on high rpm pull

Hey guys have an odd one for you. My car is making contact and destroying my crankshaft position sensor on high rpm pulls 7k- redline. Has anyone run into this before? I'm about to have my transmission torn apart to see what it is but figured I'd ask the community first.

I've only ever had it vibrate loose, but not get destroyed, but which one are we talking about?

there is two, one in the lower portion of the trans and one at the side which iirc is the RPM sensor.

It's the lower one 100% the crankshaft pos sensor. Ill get a picture of the first one that got destroyed.

Here are the pictures, the groove you can see on the top something in my trans is causing.

you verified thats the correct cps? if youve troubleshooted this and verified there are no obvious issues then pull the transmission out.

yeah that's crazy... lol that might have to be a transmission pull and internal inspection as amrazM said.

DCT and 6SPD use the same part number and it also looks to be correct. but verify.

Good times lol, trans coming apart monday. Will let you guys know the results.

manual car? I wonder if a spring or something on the clutch came loose and is hitting it

Yes manual, my mechanics are stumped too never seen a sensor like that. Should be interesting to see what is hitting it.

pressure plate straps more than likely.

Ended up being the flywheel decided it wanted to shed some weight and lost a few teeth.
