While this really doesn't look like a BMW, it looks a lot more like a BMW then many of the current BMWs.
It's not painfully ugly like the new 7 series or IXs or stupid looking like the front of the new M3s

Agreed. Front lip spoiler, side skirts, a rear spoiler and some carbon fiber sprinkled throughout and this would look more of my style.

2023 BMW i4 M50  [10.00]
Considering the i4 vision and actual production car, I would say all this does is to show the opposite of how the final car will look like. So...useless information.

I like the nod to the 2002 but as a whole nothing about the exterior particularly appeals to me.

I’m just happy the buck tooth grills where very short lived. All the recent design have done away with them

The Nissan looks so good because side line is higher up, going from the front all the way to the back.

Whereas BMW designers put the side line down low, going between the wheel wells. It looks sad, not sporty or fun. It gives the impression that this car is purely for function.

For sure, I like the IDx, not a fan of this new BMW thing. Shame the IDx Nismo was never put into production.

This is basically the Dee car we already saw a few months back, but actually more like a useable car concept, whereas Dee was mostly just a HUD demo concept vehicle.

So before anyone gets themselves worked up either positively or negatively about this design, don’t look too much into it yet.
Was going to say this before we get the onslaught of “BMW design is completely lost and clueless - I’m going to Porsche” comments.

Quite likely to be the case. At the same time, one of the primary goals of concept vehicles is simple: create and maintain compelling interest which will later translate into sales.

This concept vehicle creates rapid disinterest.

The rear looks worse than the prior BMW Jetta concept did.

LOVE the old school boxy shape and actually the grille makes total sense as they’ve gone back to the whole front effectively being like a grille.

I would love to see a small kidney shaped logo though like this:

I like this more than anything BMW has released since the E8X or E9X era!

Hyundai is crushing it with concept and new car designs right now, they look amazing. BMW needs to fire their team and hire that one.

Digging the design of the grill; including the idea of having the headlights within their silhoutte. Splitter on the front there is also nice. Can't say I'm hating the pointy hofmeister kink either. If these make it to production... well, notbad.gif

Not a fan of the interior though. And *hate* using cameras for sidemirrors.

Real curious what a more sporty model (like a 4, 6 or 8) would look like with a similar 'design language'.

looks like a robo taxi. Less like a driver focused car rather a riders focused car.

Will BMW make more money selling cars for those focused on luxury and performance or luxury riders?

Back to the way past machine on the exterior design language. Pretty much turned off by the overall normal ricer shape. Reminds me of an older Honda 4 door from 2006.

Imagine this is how all the bmw dramatic designs end at… imagine the m version of this bulky mass!

It’s like bmw is trying extra hard to be Tesla yet with a very challenged design team 😂

Not the ultimate driving machine at all!
Bmw please stick to your dramatic design language or make these exciting to look at this is boring visually.
