Endurance thermostat is for you know race cars that are driven to 10 out of 10 so the oil is always heating up and obviously race car you replace that oil way more often. So… just a quick clarification that the “endurance thermostat” is essentially just a pass through with AN fittings for a race spec DCT cooler.

Going to send it back to Rahal and stick with the normal thermostat.

You can make your own! As I am going to use it on M5, I don't have thermostat to begin with. Seems like based on my research on S55 engine has one. Thanks for confirming that for the rest of the people looking at it.

Just an update that we got 8 quarts into the DCT loop with the M Motorsports pan and the OE DCT cooler.

what is the typical amount of fluid that your shop fills in standard pan?

Realoem lists 07119963252 as a washer for the drain plug.
Also 41008427227 and 41008427808 washer and bolt for magnet.
Picked up my pan last week but not planning to install until the end of the year.

Thanks happydude I didn't list the bolt and washer for magnet as you just transfer it from the original pan. Washer I overlooked! Mine is on the way should be here coming week but as well won't have time to install it for a while. They told me 3-4wks and all of sudden shipped after 5days!

Awesome, thanks I didn't know the old magnet screw would fit. I will move it over from the old. Also don't forget the gasket which is probably the hardest to source right now.

Yes! had it on my other list but totally forgot to order and now is on back order till sep.... , I will update and add those.

I came across two pans I don’t think have been mentioned and wanted to get thoughts, feedback, etc from you. They both look like quality products but I am no expert.

In my humble opinion, if you're fighting oil starvation in high-G situations, what good would a 1000 gallon pan do for you if you're still sipping from the top of the oil? Starvation is a real thing at high grip levels. I have suffered a LOT of it. And the Slon pan addressed it. In the end, to me, it makes sense to lower the suction intakes into the deeper pan so that starvation can be avoided.

The Fall-Line pan uses a rubber seal......The Slon pan is CNC-machined to sit flush up against the transmission and you use Loctite gasket maker to seal it. I don't know what is better. All I can tell you is that the Loctite gasket maker used on the Slon pan has not dripped one drop in over two years. The BMW rubber seal ALWAYS leaked. How will the Fall-Line rubber seal hold up? Don't know.

As far as the internal baffles, the Slon pan baffles are full height inside the pan near the outside edges (again, look at the pix on my thread) while the Fall-Line baffles are shorter in height. I don't know which is better, but again the Slon pan has been very effective for me.

The literature on the site does not say how much more capacity is in the Fall-Line......odd. They say it doesn't change ground clearance which means it can't add that much extra capacity. The Slon pan adds around 1 liter. The pan is the lowest point of the car---just barely lower than the Akra X-pipes. I have hit it at least once. I don't know when or where I hit it. It scraped the pan, but it took the hit fine.

The Fall-Line unit has external ports for adding another DCT oil cooler. That seems unique. I don't immediately recall seeing any other pan that has that. Since I don't race for an hour, it's not an issue for me. My issues were starvation at sustained high-G's.

I've not raced my E92 on race tires or suspension, just a few DEs. What were the symptoms of DCT oil starvation?

I came across the Domi when I was researching all this stuff and didn't go with it b/c the right-side baffles seem to be lower than the left side, has a raised drain plug insert while all the other pans have a flat section, and the serrations are really shallow.

Just a quick update that I ran my BMW M Motorsports DCT pan and stock DCT cooler at Watkins Glen a few weeks back and the highest gearbox temp I saw was 215F while laying down 2:10s on the stock tune on my M2.
