Next sailing for NY
Like others, my car arrived to Bremerhaven this week. I was hoping the wait for the next ship wouldn't be too long, and the 17 June sailing of the Courage to NY was, well, ok. Problem is, from the shipper's website it looks like that sailing may not be available: it says "no commercial cargo accepted". If that statement means "no cars", it looks as if the next arrival to NY won't be until July 3...which, I'm sure, means a holiday delay at the port (instead of the Courage's arrival on June 30.
Do any of you guys have insight on these matters of shipping?

Further info. I contacted the shipping company (Wallenius Wilhelmsen) to determine if cars are going to be loaded on the June 17 sailing of "Courage". The person I spoke with didn't know but promised to email their office in Bremerhaven to find out. They will let me know when they get a reply. On the bad news front, that other ship -- the "Don Juan" that was due to arrive in NY on July 3 -- has now been pushed back to a July 4 arrival in NY. I would guess that arriving on the 4th of July almost certainly means very slow processing of cars.

I have a week 24 production. My car is scheduled to be completed with production on June 16th. I live in ny. Do you think that my car will be on that same ship to arrive on July 3-4? Are there any ships leaving earlier, and would my car be able to make it on one of those ships being that it will be completed production on June 16?

if your car is COMPLETED on the 16th it's highly improbable, hell I'd say it's not possible, for your car to make it on the ship scheduled for the 17th. If anything it will catch one of the later ships.

This site for the shipping company is: http://www.2wglobal.com/www/WEP/index.jsp. Easy to use for checking schedules.
Looking forward, it looks like ships sail to NY on the 17th, 19th, 23rd, 26th, 30th, etc. Good luck.

If true, that's great news. Mine *should* be in the same situation, since it was at the port on Wednesday, June 11.
