its a 7x20' aluma. i just talked to the guy. comes with a tire rack and the fenders do come off. pretty good deal, and i can't snooze on it. trailer market is nuts over here and things sell quickly.

If it’s a good deal, buy. Easily resell-able with only the tax loss in transferring to your name if it doesn’t work. Aluma makes a really nice trailer

So I finally got my phone coupler fixed and am back online; but I had to update my myspace account before coming on here to post. Plus my new sandals came in and I couldn't wait to try them with my white calf high socks. </boomer stereotype>
But anyway, let's talk lead/follow. I too have done the lead follow at Thermal. Not a fan. My wife *hated* it with a thermonuclear passion, which never helps. Agreed 1 v 1 on track is fun, but this 1 instructor w/3 followers sucked baboon balls. I think hopping into unfamiliar cars on an unfamiliar track (with shiny guardrails very close by) and then having the instructor go out at a fast pace for the "orientation" lap was disconcerting. Granted I didn't care if I wadded up a performance center car (other than potential injury to me), it didn't allow me to go through my routine of evaluating the track surface (any hazards on track, etc.), finding escape routes if there's a car failure, learning the line. Set in my ways, I am. FWIW, I kept up to the instructor just fine, but it wasn't an enjoyable experience for us.

Did you measure the deck? Mine is 81" between the fenders, I've had everything from corvettes, my camaro, m3's, should be good to go. Love my aluma trailer and has paid for itself over and over. Open trailers Are great if you need to haul pallets, drywall, trim etc.

Yes, but you may need to remove your front splitter while loading the car.
For comparison, my C7 is a factory "widebody" and it's still only 78" at the widest point. I usually have a few inches to spare on each side of the trailer which is why a winch is almost mandatory. The M3 is definitely smaller.

Hi Friends,
just wanted to share the discord again. we are not trying to replace the forum! this thread is very important to us as well. but if you need immediate tech support or immediate input on something, the discord is pretty good at getting back to you faster than the forum can. plus we can chit chat about random things too on the down time. https://discord.gg/rYBjFUUNEA

Maybe we need a thread bashing the G8x to build community trust on the Discord.

Sort of a tight fit. I haven't put the truck on the trailer yet. It's only 81" wide, but I think it will be fine.

roastbeef are you proud of me yet? Got the front passenger seat removed and coded out errors. Went from 3550 lb with a full tank of gas to 3463. Took out the rear seat headrests for an additional 4 lb reduction since it's easy. Very cool how it's easier to load wheels into the car now.
The rear seats will come out later too, for another.. 55 lb or so more reduction? |
