I've been wanting a m240i or M2 but holding out to see how the new one looks.
Is it me or does the car seems longer than I expected with the camo off?

The side view also seems too clean and not digging the door handles.
Hopefully it will look better in person

Cautiously optimistic on the M2!

Love it! It brings back a lot of the original BMW DNA: longitudinal mounted 6 in line, RWD, long hood, short overhangs, perfect weight distribution, timeless design and I suspect a real joy to drive (fast)! Finally a real BMW again.

Wait for actual pics. This car will be the length of old school 3 series coupes.

Perfect!

Not too long like a 4 or a bit too stubby like the 2. I think the bonnet looking long is just a camera lense thing.

This is a concern. As I see you can now spec a Carbon roof on an M340i
Can you? Wow I'm slipping, missed that.

Absolutely perfect! Reminds me of my first BMW, an E36 318, coupe, loved that car. It was near perfect, just wish I could have afforded a 325, but I was young then. Lol.

As long as they make it slightly better then the current M2 they'll have a winner

Besides the signature of the headlight it´s not the front end that concerns me. It´s the rear end and in particular the taillight signature plus the trunk deck angle. The side profile is very appealing IMO and also the fender flarings!

Yeah, but when you look at the F22, I'd say that the rear end is currently already a potential subject of discussion. On the other hand, it's part of its signature looks and makes it look bold and build for purpose: driving pleasure.

Nice to se BMW also pleasing the enthusiast crowd so they also get a car they want even if it isn't called M3/M4 but is just as good as them with all the kinks and proper design

I presume the overhang is the cardbox cladding to make us believe it's FWD and play with our heads.

In the other pics, it's reduced to its real proportions.

The photos of the purple one show a really nice rear quarter design, picturing the M2 with an even wider fender flare is giving me hope for the new M2.

Does anyone know if the M2 will be produced in Germany or will it be assembled in Mexico too?

Back to flat door handle like E36. This thing is growing in size, like a E92 now.

This! It's bothered me with most new g series BMWs. Since the x7 no new BMW model had the iconic character line and it really changes the hard body lines look BMW used to have. while everyone is talking about the grill, I feel like I'm the only one bothered by the change in character line. Sounds kinda stupid, but it's one reason I'm hesitant on the g20/80 3 series.

Yes and no. The strong character line is up higher than it was before and the handles are probably about the same place, but it's actually almost an exact styling copy of the door area of the e82 1er. The door handle on that car was also off of the shoulder line, which was up higher than it was on the F22.

I personally don't mind this, especially not nearly when you compare it to what's going on with the new 4 series and the complete erasure of those lines on that car.
