I just came back from a somewhat easy drive to see how its reacting without the GTS tune...so far so good, no codes, no increased battery discharge...I made sure I unplugged my dash cam as well when my car is parked to prevent battery draining (its hardwired into the fuse box).

That's good, I'm unplugging all my accessories from the battery before my car gets shipped overseas. I wouldn't want the shipping company go through extremes moving a bricked car (airlift suspension, iPE valved muffler remote, aftermarket stereo)...either something is draining my battery or the culprit has always been a faulty alternator since I had the car 2 years ago

Did BMW provide some goodwill for the transmission?

Being at such low mileage actually doing the car any favors. I'd try and at least get it up to operating temp more often.

I've had a rare glitchy shift (I think maybe 2?) in 73k miles. It is slow going into reverse and sometimes shudders a bit. I did a fluid change at around 50k miles. Otherwise, never had a problem with the transmission.

When I did a fluid change on my DCT, I had to use 6.5L of fluid.

this is true. I gave my shop 7L of fluid and the mechanic said it used almost all of it when I did a gasket+filter+fluid flush recently, that's how you know if they did a proper fluid flush or not. I also had issue skipping gears and throwing weird codes when I did hard braking once. I also have the GTS tune and it's been running smoothly after the fluid flush.

don't know why places like ecs include only 5 quarts (4.73L) of fluid with their dct kits that include filters etc.

If I'm not mistaken but the codes you had are indicating an overheat issue. Have you tried to hook up a reader to monitor the transmission oil temp while driving? This is also required when filling the system back up properly from a flush. If you have adequate fluid then I'd be worried about a clog somewhere in the system preventing proper circulation of the oil. Just my 2 cents....

Day 3 driving, put on about 150 miles since taking off the GTS tune. It's been running great....one thing I changed a habit of was unplugging the dashcam when I park my car.

I am planning to install ISTA D to do a quick read for any codes. Is Carly better and faster?

Trying to see if I have any codes be thrown after driving it around. FYI, I do not have a magic box for my dashcam. Wondering if this is the source of all the issues.

I use the Schawbeen scan tool so I can't say which one of those are better. I wonder if it was a software related issue.

took off the gts alpine tune for almost a year. no issues with the battery. Everything's been normal. Definitely not putting the time on, ever again.

So the GTS tune was definitely the culprit? I just got an LCI E90 M3 2 days ago and I'm thinking about getting the GTS DCT tune.

Most people run the tune with no problems. It's unclear if it was the issue here. He said his accessories may have been draining his battery.

Alpine GTS DCT tune on my car for 5+ yrs, 66k kms track and street. Zero issues.

I've run the OEM GTS tune for 30k miles while the car is a track car. Zero issues.

I have the OEM GTS tune, so the exact same one BMW built. You can do this yourself for free or have a coder do it quite easily. Instead of the OEM GTS tune you can choose between different OEM tunes. There are a couple threads on the topic.

Several 'tuners' sell a slightly slower tune they also call GTS. I'm sure one day when the DCT ECU is fully cracked we'll realize the 'tuners' were lying and in reality were selling OEM Euro DCT software or whatever, but had done zero work to it whatsoever.
