Latest batch replica AG M359 compared to OEM 359M
Haven't seen a direct picture comparison between the Avant-Garde M359 replica wheels vs the OEM 359M, so here it is.
I ordered these AG M359 a while back to hold me off until I found an authentic set of ZCP 359M wheels. Long story short, the wheels were back-ordered and took longer than expected so while waiting I bought an authentic set of OEM 359Ms. The AG wheels finally arrived and here is a close-up comparison between the rep and OEM. First impressions, as soon as I pulled the AG M359 wheels out of the box I could tell they were significantly lighter than the OEM ZCP wheels. I'm not sure about the previous stock but this latest batch from AG might be flow formed instead of low-pressure cast, my wheel shop thinks so because of the "rings" inside the barrels. Putting them on the scale you can see the replica wheels from AG are more than 2 lbs lighter than the stock 359Ms in the front, and the rear, which was most surprising was over 3 lbs lighter per wheel compared to OEM. That's a total combined rotational mass savings of more than 10 lbs which is pretty significant. Another thing I found interesting was the front and rear AG M359 wheels weigh almost the same even though the rear is 1 inch wider. The color on the AG wheels looks alright, the finish looks decent. Putting them side by side you can see the AG wheels are a little brighter generic hyper silver compared to OEM which has more luster and depth to the finish, almost like a pearlescent effect in different lighting which I think looks much better and less "cheap". The spokes on the AG wheels look softer compared to the OEM wheels which are more hard-edged, I can spot the difference right away. What do you guys think? I think these are well-made wheels, the only thing that worries me is the finish over time so I'm going to have my trusty wheel shop redo them in satin black. The AG wheels also aren't 1:1 replicas of the OEM, the AG front wheel in size 19x9 +18 has a completely different face profile than the OEM 19x9 +31 and also the spokes as mentioned before are softer compared to the OEM. Damn this is interesting. That is a lot of weight. I've heard the OEM wheels are heavy than the forged 220s also... what other differences are there that would effect performance? What sacrifices would be made on performance outside of weight going with the AG?

I had a set of AG 359m and can tell you I bent 2 rims in 6 months. Not sure if they're made any different now a days. I'd be interested to see if they're flowformed now.

Do the newer AG359's come in offsets exactly the same as OEM 359's?
I just sold a set of older AG359's as the front offset was more aggressive and I needed to run too much front negative camber to make them work.

You could rock this at normal "civic" height but I think 359Ms look best with ZCP height or lower. |

The AG 19x9 +18 fits identical up front to using the rear OEM ZCPs (19x10 +25) up front, which is pretty much identical to the stock 19x9 ET31 & 15/18mm spacer combo everyone uses. In summary, the AG 19X9 +18 will fit like a glove up front, no rubbing, and perfect flush fitment.

Slightly off-topic question, what size bridgestones do you have mounted on this setup?
