Ordered the car. Ordered a pizza.
Specs: E90 M3 Sedan Alpine White/Black (said I wouldn't get white -- but did it) Carbon Leather Trim (said I wouldn't do Carbon Leather -- but did it) M-DKG (never had a car that wasn't a manual trans) Moonroof (getting ready for some squeaks n rattles) Premium (BLUETOOTH OH YEAH!!) Tech (gimme the toys!) Heated Seats (bun warmers FTW!) 19's (I gave in, guess i'm a poseur!) Premium Sound (like it loud) iPod (need it) Sirius (love it!) My dealer said I was first in line for a sedan with M-DKG. Demand must not be so hot. MSRP, maybe less? ... we'll see. Expecting a June build. Now I'm on the forum and waiting for my pizza. Round Table Pepperoni! C-e-l-e-b-r-a-t-e Oh, and the car is everything I wanted it to be. It didn't take long to tell the steering is very good. It might even be better than my Evo's. That's all I needed to know -- and that is A BIG DEAL! I'm going to be very happy with this car! I put it on sport throttle, sport EDC and sport steering and the car felt just right. The steering and chassis are exactly what I wanted and expected. It's sweet. It's quiet, it's luxurious, yet not TOO much so. It feels very well built. There were no disappointments in the way it drove. That's saying something cuz I'm sensitive The manual trans was suprisingly easy to drive. I had no trouble at all getting a feel for it. Same goes for the brakes. Everything - throttle, brakes, clutch - was very easy to modulate and control. Any concerns I had absolutely disappeared. This car was not like my Z4MCoupe at all. It is a true sports coupe/sedan. Yeah, it's good. I can't comment on the power because the car only had a few miles on it -- I was the first to drive it and didn't rev it up. I didn't need to -- the mags already told me it's fast. However, even at low speeds, the engine made sweet noises and reinforced my feeling that I GOTTA HAVE A V8. Again, this car is everything I want it to be! I did not hesitate to order it. As far as I'm concerned, this car has no competition in its class. YES! my pizza's here.....

Well I went by the Mitsu dealer on my way home from the BMW dealer! Thought if I picked up a new Evo X it might distract me for a few months. Thanks for the wishes! I will probably change my mind on color a few times to keep the wait interesting... you?

Thanks E... I think you will be pleased with the 6MT. If they'd had a white or silver sedan with 6MT, or even coupes (red!)... I might have gone for it today. It's good!

AW / Black is going to be killer in an E90. Great blend. The cf leather is awesome to me. What made you jump to it? |

My feelings after the test drive were the same as yours. No more concerns or doubts, whatsoever. It sure makes things a lot easier that way. Ha. I'll be going with the AW/Black/CF Leather also, but in the coupe. |

I went for the CF leather because it is unique, not too gaudy, and I like the stitching along the edges. It's not too bad... the lesser of all the evils I guess. I had wanted the blue-grey brushed aluminum, but the contrast between the aluminum and the black dash is too much for me in person. It seemed to bring out the cheapness of the plastics in the dash. Titanium might be nice though. All you guys who are waiting to order are going to get a better deal than I am! But I just want it, dangit! Unless word gets out about a facelift for '09 E90's before the car gets here, I will stick with the '08. The M3 feels great compared to my Evo 8. It feels very substantial, and you can feel the car's weight but it is still nimble. I had to make a sudden turn and it turned in just like my Evo would. Very nice. Very easy to hop in and drive. I was looking at a 550i sport last month, and although it was pretty stiff, it feels kinda barge-like in comparison and the steering just isn't there. M3 = just right! Sooooo solid.

Good stuff Hans! You have picked most of what I am settling on. I am still debating on 18 vs 19 (sans bumwarmer - not much need in TX) Saw 2 M3's @ BMW of Manhattan this week: E92 - Interlagos Blue + sunroof + 18s E90 - Jerez + sunroof + 19s After seeing the 19s in the metal I'm warming to them a bit as they look so 'open' (but prefer the gunmetal of the 18s) - just wish the brakes that were being displayed looked as impressive as Brembos. Have fun w/ your new toy mate!

V and all, thanks for the wishes! I like the gunmetal of the 18's better too... the 19's are a bit 'pimp' they are so shiny, but in the flesh they look good on the car. I think my CA convinced me to go with the 19's... I'm quite gullible "ummmm.. yeah OK"
