La Jolla Independent. Dealer would not do it, neither would another indy shop I tried. The place is kind of a dump but charming also... I do keep going back for minor things. They are super cool about computer resets and the like for free.

I checked motul and they offer me the MOTUL MULTI DCTF
Is ok? Also, how much oil is needed? ECSTuning service kit offerrs 6 liters, BMW dealer told me 8.8, and motul said 7.8 liters. |

Yes, Motul Multi DCTF is fine. Here is the Motul datasheet where they say it is okay for use in the BMW DCT: https://www.motul.com/system/product...pdf?1446825833 I believe you need 6 litres for a change. The higher numbers quoted by the dealer are for a "dry" transmission that is brand new and has no fluid in it at all. When changing the fluid, you can't remove all of it.

Are you asking about the DCT fluid or engine oil?

Okay, to replace the fluid it takes around 5-6 liters. I think to fill an empty transmission it is like 8 or 9.

Bringing an old thread back from the dead. My DCT is at 111,xxx Miles and is still filled with factory fluid. I have never had a single issue with the tranny, it is prefect. However, I am changing the fluid and filters in the next couple of days, as well as the mechatronic cover seal. (everyone says you have to drop the transmission to get to is. So I will post on if I get it done or not)
Anyway, I was hoping to find out if anyone has done the fluid change without the special scanner yet? |
