Newbold BMW - AW E92 M3
Went to see Newbold's M3 this afternoon. Was nice to actually touch and sit in the car. I had seen a SSII E92 M3 but it was thoroughly sectioned off.
The car at cold start up sounds like a top fuel dragster. It is just amazing. It is VERY noticeable. I absolutely love it. The M3 quites down quite a bit after it warms up. Didn't get to drive the car but revved it a few times and it sounded really sweet. The car just doesn't sound like a passenger car and that is the stock "OEM" sound. Love how BMW went about implementing the sound of the car. I approve many times over. The leather is absoultely sublime. So soft and smooth. Not coarse at all like the 335. I went and sat in a 335 right after the M3 and it didn't feel anywhere near as special. And that is after sitting in an M3 with cardboard and plastic on the seats and floor. Only negative was this car hadn't been PDI'd yet. timsev (Tim), a member of this board is selling this coupe at MSRP and is a great guy to work with. I have included the link below for his thread. If anyone is serious about this car I can take any additional pics or provide insight if needed. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124196

Lookin' good E! Newbold is probably the best dealership I've ever worked with. I wish more people did business like Neil and Tim.

I love the close detail pics, what does concern me is the oil cooler, there should be a fine mesh protecting it from sand or rocks that could be thrown up from the tires.

if there is a fine mesh it would block the air flow significantly. |

Glad everyone likes the "not-so-traveled" pics. Just trying to get a view of the car that isn't as widely publicized.
I added some more personal thoughts to my first post.

your description of the sound is making this unbearable - I don't even have a dealer around here to go see one

My 335xi coupe has the same type of venting in the fender well. I drive this car as my dd. It sees the worse type of winter and I like to get on it. I have had no problems whatsoever with cinders, stones or salt getting to the cooler. The slant of those vents in the wheel well liner is enough to deflect this crap. (BTW, I do have the sport packge and the 18's, so my car did come with a similar looking oil cooler.)

Thanks for the photos, Ep. You just can not go wrong with white, carbon and 19's. It is very encouraging to hear that the M's leather is so much nicer than the 335. The first thing that I noticed about my 335 was the course leather as you described; nothing like the smooth refined leather of the E46 M.
BTW, my car should be here Mon., the 10th. I have yet to see an M3 in the metal. |

I added a photo to the end since they seem to be going over so well.
I just noticed the ///M on one of the suspension arms going to the rear wheel.

It was so insanely cold out. The wind was constant and strong. However, I braved it and froze my hands off all for you.
