E92 LED Interior Lighting
Is it just me or pale white and blueish white is very harsh on the eyes at night?
I kind of like the OEM yellow look, but also looking for some LED versions that offer a warm white color. It looks a lot more classy. On my old E90 I was obsessed with changing everything to LED but as I am a bit older now I find it tacky and annoying on the eyes. Especially if the car is parked in a pitch dark area and when you open the door it is extremely bright. Can anyone recommend a set of nice warm LED kit or will I have to piece together a kit from eBay...

Its not just you, my friend got brand new white leds put into his charger and that the brightness hurt my eyes instantly. Even the OEM ones kinda hurt my eyes so I turn them off right away :P

Seriously haha, I can't stand that full white led look anymore. And I'm not that old either!

Came to that conclusion as well and returned the stock yellowish lighting back on all my rides. Feels so much more comfortable when the interior lights are on.

The best color for your eyes in the dark is red, I might swap mine for red bulbs cause I’m parked at night reading paper work when waiting for people

I love the look of a soft red glow. One of the interiors I loved the most was the red instrument & button lights on a Passat that I had as a DD. & I agree about the harshness of the others.

Bought them several years back, you can try E92-Lighting, they have some of those hurtful LEDs.

Always been a fan of the mellow orange glow on a bmw, I agree that bright led inside can get annoying

red is nice but I feel like it has too much of a "ricer" feel to it.

I turn mine off instantly, I wish we had an option like other cars to keep them off when the door opens and stuff.

Most of the kits out there do seem to be overly bright and harsh which is why I have bought kits from this eBay seller over the years, I have them in my E90 and I have zero regrets. 1.5 years and counting, no issues at all. Just nice pure white light that doesn't blind you the moment you get in the car. Super cheap and fast shipping from a US seller, too.

Red lights would be great. Preserve night vision with a bit of cool factor.
Can't seem to find them anywhere on ebay and a google search doesn't really show any results. Has anyone got a set of red ones in their car? |

How often are y'all sitting in your cars, at night, with the lights on?
I swapped mine out a while back, and when my interior lights are on I appreciate the crispness and clarity. Generally helpful to see well for a specific task and then I'm on my way. Now headlights shining in my eyes, that's another story.

I kept all the interior lights stock also. Don't plan on changing them either. I've got dozens of T10 wedge bulbs to last the lifetime of the car, swapped them out from my old E90 which had hyper bright LEDs. Got tired of the look, the OEM lighting does look dated but at least it's easy on the eyes. Quote:
