What else can I do performance wise to my car?

I have:
-ESS vt2-500 supercharger
-full exhaust w/ cat deletes.
(Not like I have much just curious what else I can start working on)


Is there much else I can do to add power? I was thinking pulleys, cams, gear, etc. Could some of you give me a few ideas of what I can add for a reasonable price and list the average price with the modification? I really would like to get some cams, what are everyone’s thoughts on cams for an m3?

I would not put cams in a heavy e93 because you will lose some low end power which is the Rpm range you drive most. Upgrade the supercharger to stage 2.

I have often thought of buying a cheap E93 with roof problems, ditching the entire roof and mechanism and turning it into a 4-seat Spyder, perhaps have my local soft top specialist make a Boxster-like bikini top for aw crap caught in a rainstorm moments. Most of that ~250lb weight loss program would be free, and you end up with a car that maybe weighs 100lb more than the E92, but the extra structural weight is all low and in the back

A new roof assembly, all by itself, weighs 83 kilos according to Realoem. That's more than 180lb gone, poof! just like that. Headliners...3kg, latches, 3.5kg, hydraulics, another 15 or so with all the hoses, harnesses and bracketry...so poof 230#!

Take THAT, Nissan Murano Convertible!

But yeah cheapest is just going to be upgrading your SC kit

Lol I should have just said it was an e92... funny part is I don’t ever even use the convertible. I would prefer e92 but have to work with what I have. Just bought this car for a steal could not pass it up even though I’m not a fan of convertibles.

Jokes aside though, how much do you think the SC upgrade would be w/ install.

If that's the case, junk the auxiliaries and make it an E92.5. Similar to what Richbot has said. Losing a chunk of (high center of gravity) weight might give you a little more zip and zap.

Which kit do you have now? There's no such thing as a VT2-500. If you don't have an intercooler then you have a VT1-550 (or 535 depending on age). I upgraded from VT1-550 to VT2-625 for $2k direct from ESS (not including install).

you could do some audi tt roll bars that the canvas stretches over....
i have to admit, i kinda like the new boxter spyder look.


it would be interesting to see what the weight savings of a vert would be without all of the vert parts.

595 pulley, new belt, and 2-3 gallons of e85 would be the easiest and cheapest path to more power. On the maintenance side replacing spark plugs and primary O2 sensors help too.

A few thoughts...
Upgrade your SC for the best bang for the buck. Cost can be a few grand. Consistent performance. Find out what supercharger you have. If it's on the lower end then it's worth an upgrade. You may want to consider tires too for better grip and handling.
Adding a pulley, e85, can work but you'll need to have a tune to realize the true benefits. Adding e85 is nice once in a while but can be a hassle for some.
Oh...and nothing "reasonable" cost wise for these cars. It's more a question of what you want and what your willing to spend.

Its the vt-1 550. I'm waiting for ESS to open back up from the holidays so I can ask for a quote on the vt-2 650.

Also is e85 safe for our cars I have heard mixed opinions? Would I need to reset my ESS tune for e85? Also what pulleys would recommend that are compatible with the SC?
