Yes sir with a slightly smaller pulley and a 5 gal water/ice box. I'm fortunate to have 93 octane. I drive it 5-6 days a week.

As great as Dinan is, there are plenty of other shops that you can get estimates or quotes for what you're looking to build.

-VAC Motorsports comes to the front of the line; they have an incredible line of aftermarket parts for our chassis. The higher end lines all for the E92/E90 M3..

-Turner Motorsports is another one who not only races their E90's but they produce and develop parts. Both are competent at selling and building the motor you want.

People can alway say going Supercharger/Turbocharged is so much cheaper; Yes, depen on what parts your putting into your build. But the NA guys are die hards. If you were able to do it in a E9x chassis, I would be impressed! Hopefully we can add to a list of shops that we trust!

Dinan has quite a bit of victories ,I'm not talking about some hill climb or scca stuff I'm talking race series like lemans series, world challenge etc. their motors in the DP cars have a few championships as well (telemex DP car). I'm a huge Turner fan.

As expensive as they are I like the idea of a stroker over an SC car. Perhaps going with a 4.4L stroker that just requires cylinder honing instead of sleeving would help keep the cost down.

How many miles do you have on your ESS kit? 93 octane is standard here in nj

Please do your research beforehand. There are many, many BMW people who would sooner throw themselves off a cliff than deal with VAC

Basic incompetence usually sums it up. Search here and on the other forum. The number of horror stories is massive

Then search for horror stories from Van Dyne Engineering, Autotalent, ACM... you won't find them

Ok, F this. I am doing an ESS 625 kit with ACM after changing my rod bearings and going catless on exhaust.

Should we modify sleeve as well if doing SC kit? You seem to know your shit

Had nothing but good dealings and results with VAC myself. When you SC/replace rod bearings you will not be cracking your engine open much, if wanting to sleeve you may as well do a full rebuild. Sleeve vs non sleeve on a stroker is about the same cost after pistions etc taken into account. Sleeves must be done RIGHT or you will have huge issues/engine failure.
Some shops say do it, some say don't. Plenty of high HP s65s running with and without so just up to you.

Dinan would be the most hassle free, and prob the fastest but the most expensive. Lot of shops who build em though

No need to open up the engine for a 625 kit. The 850hp VT3 M3s that have run for years still run on the stock block

Rod bearings are a good idea regardless of a supercharger

The rods we can fix ourselves with the BE bearings, but there's something to be said with an entire upgraded assembly
i have nearly 30k miles on a dinan stroker. runs like a champ.
I read through your build .... awesome stuff .... kinda reinforced my decision to go the stroker way when it's time .... I want to retain the reason why I bought the car in the first place ... the NA V8.... showed my wife this thread cause the thought of passing this car onto my son resonates so much with me

Yea VAC 4.4l stroker, 10:1 compression with sleeved block with ESS 625 strapped back on from my blown engine.
Kept the kits stock boost, course I could go much higher and produce much more power. But my main goal was keeping enough power to keep it fun while running well within the safe limits of the engine. "Its my daily driver and want it to last"

Installing CSF Radiator and oil cooler right now as I was able to get her a bit warmer than the stock 4.0L

As fast as you are going through cars on your signature I don't know why you would bother with this. Put the $30k stroker cash in a trustfund stockmarket account for your kid and be satisfied with your car as is, or even with a supercharger. You are not going to track that frozen blue paint enough to get any value out of the stroker engine. I can see you are really excited about this concept, but it makes no sense. This whole thread is foolishness.
