Looking at options to save weight as I've read the OEM battery in the E92M weighs 60lbs?
What are you running?

Search ortho281. He put in a BMW one that was 40 lbs and could be registered. Cut 20lbs.

I am using the VPR S30C from Volphreaks. Weighs 7.5 lbs and has been fantastic over the last 5 months. No issues with registration and electronics, etc.
And yes, the stock battery weighs almost 60 lbs.

Do you have to keep it on a tender at night? How did do the mounting or did it fit under the existing clamp setup?

I had a custom clamp made to secure it for the track, but used the existing battery connections. It is substantially smaller than the stock unit.

I've been eyeing Shorai because of the cost, but I like the offerings from FalconEV.
http://www.falconev.com/batteries.html The website is straight-up 90s, but the guy is legit. Made to order batteries that cost less than those from Braille and Voltphreaks. The batteries from Shorai might not have enough pulse amps, the OEM battery is around 1300PA.

But the battery provides 40 Ah, and 1160 CA which is more than enough in comparison with the stock battery.

Do you know the OEM pulse/crank amps? My google-fu showed 1300, but I'm not completely confident that data is accurate.

MINI or Z4M batteries are good low-weight replacements and bolt into the factory location, we use the Z4M version. Vehicle will need to be registered/coded for the new Ah rating.

How does the Z4M battery hold up compared to our OEM under load in colder Climates as a daily driver: A/C, rear defroster, wipers and heated seats in stop and go traffic?

Perfectly fine in SoCal. Should be fine in most areas but may be a bit of a challenge in colder climates if not driven on a regular basis.

i ran a braille battery for a while but it failed. I got another and it also failed. I have been running a mini cooper battery and it has been good. I have friends with Voltfreaks and they have had no issues daily driving them.
