If these are still going into production, I'll take a price quote as well... |

From what I understand, production has been canceled indefinitely.

No biggie. I drove behind a car the other day without cats. It stinks. If a cop ever pulled up behind me, I'd be screwed. I hear the fine for messing with catalysts in California is pretty big.

I have read a coouple stories of the gintani x-pipe developing cracks in teh welds which had me second guessing this route. Gintani was my second choice but this and the very long lead time have me not making a move on it. If a quality used one came up for sale that problem would probably be ironed out haha

I emailed Malek a few weeks ago regarding the x-pipe and this is the response I got from him copied and pasted from the email:
It is no longer manufactured because the state of California does not allow any exhaust manufacturer to build a product that tampers with Emissions. That includes MRF, Akrapovic and etc unfortunately. Malek MRF Engineering 949 233 0448 (Direct) www.mrfpower.com Facebook Page |

The EPA dropped the hammer hard on the state of CA a short while ago. Even the diesel guys were almost run out of town. Banks almost lost their business because of it. No manufacturer from that state is allowed to manufacture a product that defeats a emmision component. No matter off road use or not. One can apply for a EPA Waiver but once it is registered the vehicle becomes unregisterable for the road. It is then a race car only or in the case of diesel a tractor pulling truck or farm truck.

Hopefully some of these shops will leave the state or atleast make shops across the state border, this is a lot of lost revenue.

Gentleman, MRF is working on getting an EPA waiver to continue production of this mid-section. But until the EPA allows MRF to sell these pipes, manufacturing stops.
All hope is not lost and I am working on it! |
